Now Private Equity Intern · AEM Unternehmerkapital, Berlin

Hi, I'm David.

Private Equity

I study business administration and business mathematics in Augsburg, work in private equity and build apps and media on the side. I like numbers that hold up and products people open twice.

About

Footballer, gamer, professional respawner. Now private equity.

Spawned in Hamburg, grew up in Augsburg, between a football pitch and a gaming PC. Five years in the DFB talent program taught me how to train. Gaming taught me how to fail: lose, respawn, queue again. Most of what I started didn't work the first time, and that is exactly how everything that did work came about.

Since then I have worked in sales at Apple, M&A at Vindelici, cost engineering at RENK and growth in Enpal's CFO office. Today I'm in private equity at AEM, working on buy & build.

In between I build things: iOS apps, a newsletter on early-stage startups, and one more thing I'm not ready to talk about yet.

I used to game. A lot.

Before spreadsheets there was a controller. From Minecraft and Clash of Clans to Fortnite, World of Tanks and CS:GO, and lately far too many hours of Rocket League. Gaming taught me to train for something, to lose and queue again, and that there is a market hiding in almost everything.
